The inspiration for the PFCC challenge the last week of last year was the crystal ball image from Pixabay, shown below. I thought it would be a good starting point for a snow globe, so the “make a snow globe” contest was off and running.
My background window snow scene is from AdobeStock, as are the falling snow overlays. The horse running through the snow is from Pixabay, and the snow globe stand is from PixelSquid. I ended up distorting the horse and a section of the window behind the globe to account for the magnification effect of the glass sphere. Hmm, perhaps I should have out the window view upside down?? No, a solid glass sphere would do that, but a snow globe is hollow, so the flip effect shouldn’t happen. At any rate, I hope you enjoy the winter snow globe .
